Frequently asked questions
Can foreigners buy property in Hacienda Pinilla?
Yes. Titled property in Costa Rica can be owned by foreigners on the same terms as Costa Rican citizens, either personally or through a corporation. Each listing notes its title status; I always recommend an independent Costa Rican attorney for due diligence.
How far is Hacienda Pinilla from the airport?
About 1 to 1.5 hours by car from Liberia International Airport (LIR), and 15 to 20 minutes from Tamarindo.
Are there HOA fees?
Yes. Fees vary by neighborhood and generally cover security, landscaping, common-area maintenance and infrastructure. Beach Club membership is separate and depends on whether you live in the home or rent it out. Ask me for the current figures for any home or lot you’re considering.
Should I buy a lot or a finished home?
A homesite lowers the entry point and lets you design around the view, but design, permits and construction come before you move in. A finished home costs more up front and you can use it, or rent it, right away. I’m happy to compare both options for your budget and timeline.
Can you show me homes listed by other brokers?
Yes. As an independent broker I work with colleagues across Hacienda Pinilla, so I can show you most of what is for sale in the community, not just my own listings.
A broker, not a brokerage. Personal, local and data-driven. Contact Leo or write on WhatsApp at +506 7016 2024.
